Sunnyside Barn
Stylish and contemporary chalk barn with spacious, bright and airy rooms,
featuring a large private garden and patio with dining area and sunbeds.
Sleeps 4 adults + 2 children + baby (travel cot).
Well behaved pets welcome.
Built in 1803, Sunnyside Barn in Bempton has been refurbished to a very high standard and retains many of its original features and charm.
Much of the house has solid oak flooring and beams with exposed ‘A’ frame and chalk walls. The bedrooms and lounge have floor to ceiling oak
French doors for that ‘living inside/outside’ feeling. The barn is a stone’s throw away from the village pub. There is also a useful corner shop
/post office and antique shop.
The Barn is situated in the quiet village of Bempton in the East Riding of Yorkshire and is an ideal location for visiting the surrounding country
side, spectacular beaches and coastline. You can stroll out direct from the house on many circular walks. Cliff-top and coastal paths can be
easily accessed via a one mile walk, cycle or drive to the RSPCA bird sanctuary at Bempton’s towering chalk cliffs for breath taking views.
Conveniently placed on the tip of the Yorkshire Wolds for Flamborough head and the lighthouse, North and South Landing and numerous
secret smugglers caves and bays for bird and seal watching. Further local attractions include Sewerby Park, Dane’s Dyke, Bridlington Bay and
Harbour and Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club sailing events and pleasure cruises of all shapes and sizes. A week’s full of attractions are all a walk,
cycle ride, or short drive away. Bempton has a small railway station and bus routes. There is off-road parking spaces for two cars opposite on
the gravelled area.

Bempton Cliffs
The largest bird breeding colony in England
The cliffs rise majestically from the sea at Bempton, which is the site of the famous RSPB Bird Sanctuary. An awe-inspiring sight, the sheer cliffs are home to
many species. In particular, during the season puffins may be seen in large numbers, in addition to the thousands of other nesting birds who make this the
largest such colony in England. Constant pounding by the North Sea has eroded the soft chalk, creating many unusual formations, secret caves (a past haven
for smugglers), and secluded bays and inlets, including the picturesque North Landing where the old Flamborough Lifeboat was housed at the top of steep
slipway.
